

Surprise, team Android! Google’s next operating system, codenamed Android N, is being shown off much earlier than expected thanks to Developer Preview launched today, and it includes a feature stock Android fans have wanted for ages: Split-Screen view. New versions of Android are typically announced and detailed at Google’s I/O conference, which doesn’t occur until May 18-20 this year, so the announcement comes quite unexpectedly. For its part, Google says that “by releasing a ‘work in progress’ build earlier in development, we have more time to incorporate developer feedback.” Fittingly, it’s also launching an Android Beta Program to deliver preview builds over the air.…
