Sharp showed off its FFD (Free Form Display) technology at CES today. The display tech moves the circuitry out of the bezel and into the individual pixels according to Sharp.  The pixel display technology allows companies to create displays in any shape they prefer beyond the usual rectangle we’re accustomed to seeing. Sharp is teaming up with Qualcomm and using that company’s MEMS shutter technology to control the display of the RGB shooting pixels using a tiny shutter.  Sharp sees this technology as something that can work well in the automotive world.
