Facebook is tweaking its News Feed to show less promotional content in 2015

Facebook is constantly tweaking its News Feed algorithm, and according to a post on the company newsroom today, a new change is incoming – you’ll start to see less ‘promotional page posts’ starting 2015. Facebook has a few mock-ups showing what they mean by promotional page posts: Or: The company says it decided on the change after conducting surveys with users. One might expect users to find ads the most annoying, but the study instead saw that people most disliked posts that seemed to only push promotions with no context.
