Bloomberg has reported that Microsoft has announced GitHub. The ink has dried. Official confirmation of the deal is due on Monday, and not everybody is happy about it. You don’t have to look far to see this. Just scan Twitter, and you’ll see people proclaiming the death of GitHub (and even open source software). Many are making bold promises to switch to rival services — like BitBucket or GitLab.
