Amazon is reportedly developing a domestic robot. We’re still pretty far away from the robot butler era, but this indicates the possible arrival of the “Alexa, get me a beer” stage, and we can’t wait. Sources familiar with the project told Bloomberg the company plans to develop a domestic robot: Codenamed “Vesta,” after the Roman goddess of the hearth, home and family, the project is overseen by Gregg Zehr, who runs Amazon’s Lab126 hardware research and development division based in Sunnyvale, California.
