Net neutrality in the US might die after FCC Chairman Tom Wheeler steps down

On January 20, the US Federal Communications Commission (FCC) will see its 31st chairman Tom Wheeler step down after serving the role for three years. Under Wheeler’s command, the FCC proposed and enacted a number of good ideas, including a $9.25 monthly broadband subsidy for low-income households, set the benchmark for broadband speed to a respectable 25 Mbps, plans to improve wireless coverage in rural areas and ensuring net neutrality.
