Sony’s ambitiously aiming to be the first third-party manufacturer to distribute the recently-announced Android 7.1.1 update, reveals Xperia Blog. In a statement made to the online publication, Sony’s Xperia development team allegedly revealed that adapting the firmware is its “number one priority.” “If you spot any other vendor (excluding Google) releasing this faster than us, prepare your rotten tomatoes,” the team said. It already has the source code and is now waiting for the application suite (GMS) and the Compatibility Test Suite (CTS) from Google.
