Nissan reveals its own autonomous driving technology — a self-driving chair

Nissan’s ProPILOT technology could one day power a fleet of self-driving cars. Today, it’s powering a chair. The self-propelling chair detects surrounding chairs and moves patrons through lines in a predefined path. It’s probably not the most exciting use of autonomous technology — unless you just can’t stand waiting in line — but it’s certainly got utility. Unfortunately for us in the US, the chair is only going to see the light of day in Japan, at least for now.
