Google Fiber could hit LA and Chicago next
Google is ready to bring Fiber to the Big Leagues. The company today announced it’s invited Chicago and Los Angeles – its two largest cities yet – to join its Gigabit internet program. In order for Google to get the program going, it needs to work with city leaders to plan out the necessary infrastructure, which it details in a checklist document here. Ultimately, it’s up to the cities’ respective governments to decide whether they want to bring the 1 Gigabit speeds to town.
