Apple announced today that it sold a record 13 million iPhone 6s and 6s Plus handsets over launch weekend, shattering last year’s record of 10 million. In a press release today, Apple’s CEO Tim Cook said “sales for iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus have been phenomenal, blowing past any previous first weekend sales results in Apple’s history.” Interestingly, Foursquare predicted how many handsets would be sold on launch weekend using its location data and was right on the mark.
