Fotokite’s Phi drone doesn’t have a controller, and that’s a great thing for content producers

If the appeal of owning a drone isn’t flying of the machine itself, but rather the amazing footage you could capture, then the consumer-oriened Fotokite Phi is well worth checking out on Indiegogo. The project, which is looking to raise $300,000, is different from other drones on the market; this one doesn’t really give you much to do at all – there’s no controller unit, and there’s no app. You can just about control which way it’s facing via the tether attached to the drone.
