Reddit updates content policy, promises to quarantine ‘extremely offensive’ communities

Reddit has changed its content policy, and will now quarantine communities “whose content would be considered extremely offensive to the average redditor.” In addition, Reddit has outright banned five subreddits: /r/CoonTown, /r/WatchNiggersDie, /r/bestofcoontown, /r/koontown, /r/CoonTownMods, /r/CoonTownMeta. Those seem to be the only subeddits that have drawn Reddit’s ire. Other similarly offensive communities like “/r/blackpeoplehate” and “/r/nazi” are still active, possibly because they haven’t been reported to Reddit as having offensive content.
