Video game streaming mecca Twitch announced via blog post today that it has redesigned its video player — shedding Flash controls in favor of HTML5 and Javascript. “The video itself is still in Flash underneath the controls,” the post said. “However, this is an important step to releasing the much-anticipated full HTML5 player.” This is a big step for Twitch, mostly because Flash is buggy and inflexible across devices.
