Book subscription app Oyster today announced that it is launching an e-book store, going against the likes of Barnes & Noble, Amazon, Apple and Google. The Oyster e-book store means that you no longer have to subscribe to the service’s $9.99 monthly fee for access to e-books across the Web. Some of the partner publishers include Hachette, HarperCollins, Macmillan, Penguin Random House and Simon & Schuster. While it’s probably more economical to subscribe if you love to explore different titles, the store does give readers an alternative e-reader app that’s beautifully designed for your mobile device.
