Puzzle game inspires an artist to rethink the concept of animal portraits
If you played Tangram as a child, constructing objects from various shapes may bring back a familiar creative urge. That’s what seems to have happened to French artist, Manoou, who was inspired by the concept of the ancient Chinese game and applied its technique to an extensive series of brilliant animal portraits. The images are intricate, lifelike and playful and can being framed as art prints or used to decorate anything from T-Shirts and mugs to iPhone cases, pillows and watch faces.
