Say goodbye to Aperture as Apple reminds us of its impending demise

We knew this was coming. With iPhoto’s days clearly numbered, it was only a matter of time before Apple pulled us all aside and told us that its professional photo app, Aperture was being taken to a nice farm in the country where it could frolic with other totally-not-dead-just-retired apps. On Apple’s Aperture product page, the company today placed the following message: When Photos for OS X is available this spring, Aperture will no longer be available for purchase from the Mac App Store.
