Google is reportedly shutting down its Russian engineering operations

It seems Google isn’t getting along with Mother Russia. According to a report by The Information, the search companyis shutting down its engineering operations in the country. The Information’s sources claim the departure comes in light of upcoming new requirements for Web companies in the country. In particular, the new policies would require companies to store data about Russian citizens in data centers physically located in the country. Sales operations, however, are expected continue. Google is known for fighting back against governments that impose too much control over its operations, as was the case when the company pulled out of China in 2010…
